Services
A Moment For You, PLLC offers assessment, individual, family, group, and couples (focusing on pre-martial work) counseling as well as supervision for LCSW-Associates.
Comprehensive Clinical Assessment
The initial session and up to the third session is the assessment process. During this time the initial paperwork is completed and discussed to ensure understanding, assess "best fit", and allow questions to be answered. I will be asking you a series of standard questions and allow you to share information to assist me in understanding the presenting problem and how best to support you by utilizing a client-centered and solution-focused approach. I will make a recommendation for services. If you decide to continue in counseling with me we will collaboratively develop treatment goals and discuss next steps, time frames, and frequency of sessions to best meet your needs.
During the assessment we may determine that a referral to another provider is needed, either in addition to or in place of services at A Moment For You, PLLC.
Trauma Comprehensive Clinical Assessment (ages 4-18)
The Trauma Comprehensive Clinical Assessment follows the same process as the standard Comprehensive Clinical Assessment, however if there is a history of trauma formal standardized measures (UCLA, SMFQ, CDI, BSI-18,CSBI, ASBI, APQ, SDQ) will be administered. The standardized measures are completed by both child/adolescent and parent/caregiver. The measures are scored by me and helps to identify primary symptoms and establish a baseline. Collaboratively, we will develop treatment goals to minimize trauma-related symptoms.
Individual
Individual therapy sessions are typically 45-60 minutes to work on outlined treatment goals. When working with children and adolescents I typically work in the context of the family, therefore sessions either begin or end with consultation with the parent or guardian regarding concerns/challenges.
* Parent(s) and/or guardians are highly encouraged to participate in the TF-CBT sessions. Click here to learn more
Family
Family therapy works with families and couples in intimate relationships to nurture change and development. A Moment For You, PLLC has the belief that regardless of the origin of the problem, and regardless of whether the client/consumers consider it an "individual" or "family" issue, involving families in solutions often benefits the client/consumers. In family therapy, we will explore patterns of interactions, roles, structure, and beliefs. I welcome all that are involved to include, parents, siblings, foster, adoptive, and fictive-kin.
Group
Group therapy is offered to help address a variety of issues and therapeutic goals. Some people choose to join group therapy to supplement individual therapy, to access additional support, or to serve as the sole component of healing work. Participants in group sessions find discussing their problems with those who can offer genuine empathy gives them a sense of belonging and encouragement. Additionally, group therapy provides support and direction for others struggling with the same challenges. I am in the process of reviewing and developing group curriculums. Please contact me at 704-780-6066 to share areas of needs. I am working on a TF-CBT group and Empowerment/Self-Esteem Group for girls ages 8-11.
